Here is the deal, got an 1861 (MTD) that needs some work. One of the jobs that I have in mind for this tractor in the future is to move a trailer into a tight area that a tow pig isn't going to get....
I hear stories of people using small tractors to push their boat and trailer around. However, before I go to doing a lot of work on this tractor and fab-n up a hitch with a 2 5/8? inch ball, I'd like a little real World advice from the professionals here.... How much tongue weight is this tractor going to safely handle?, I assume it is better to have hitch on rear, versus front of tractor, is this correct? Anyone here use a Cub to move a trailer? Does it work well? Advice?, pics of your hitch? Most of the time, my trailer will be just an empty dual axle 16 foot trailer, but since I use this trailer as a pick up truck that I don't have, there might be times where there is a load of one sort or another on it.
