to each their own i guess. i just sold my 123 with a 42" cast iron deck to my co worker and he loves the way it cuts. much of the performance of a deck has to do with setting it up properly and correctly sharpening the blades. I'm sorry you weren't happy with yours. i mow with a 782 with a 50c deck and gator blades and couldn't be happier with it, as long as the blades are sharp.
