I did find the wire on the armatures was bad so I replaced it. That is a ground wire or at least I hope since I hooked it up back where it was with the yellow wire(kill wire) as im reading. Any other help or ideas?

Did you replace the wire between the two armatures with a homemade wire? That is the kill wire and it has a diode in it. It’s number 5 in the pic. Part number 493792 WIRE ASSEMBLY
Briggs calls the Mags Armatures, don't ask me why.
