I am not a model # guy, so I am not sure which deck you are talking about.
This deck on an 1861 has NEVER been cleaned, I have used it an hour after a rain.
The discharge opening amazes me that anything will come out. It will clump occasionally, especially if you are cutting
off more than 6" of grass.
I just cut with this deck an hour ago.
The deck is only 36" wide, and that entire discharge chute is open. It will throw clippings 10 feet!
I thought you would like to see what the blades look like.

I almost fell over when I read hi-lift on that blade with the little wing. I have never had a blade with that small of a wing.
BUT, it does work well.
The reason I posted the pics is to show it might not be the blade design.
