Need some advice:
I've had issues with carb running rich on kohler 12hp. Last week it wouldn't start, despite turning over fine. I suspected no spark.
Mechanic at cub dealer has it. Said it needs a new coil- which makes sense. He needs to pull engine to replace coil. This will take 2-3 hours labor.
3 questions:
1) Do you really need to pull the engine to replace the coil?
2) he recommends I replace 4 motor mounts @ $25 each as a precaution. Says he won't know for sure til he pulls the engine? Warned of expensive drivetrain problems that could result w/ bad mounts.
3) could the bad coil cause carb to run rich?
Again- I'm no mechanic. My guy seems to really know cubs.... I'd appreciate any thoughts...
Thanks!
