Sounds like you could be in line for the driveshaft update that Mac had worked out. I have the "prototype" on my 1572 and it works GREAT. No more rag joints and no more in-line clutch. This could probably work on your 1882 as well, and even simpler since I believe all you need is the shaft that goes between the adapter plates on the engine and the hydro pump. I think Mac used a 3000 series driveshaft for it. Mac?
