Hi everyone,
So here is what I'm looking at on top of my GT3235's 54" deck. Can you please help?
I was mowing this evening. After about an hour, I needed to move a branch out of the way, so I stopped the PTO, left the mower running, got off, moved the branch, got back on, and tried to engage the blades. Nothing.
I shut everything down and found I could turn the blades by hand no problem, so nothing was locked up. I thought maybe my seat safety just disengaged, so I hopped on, started up the mower and tried the PTO again.
This time I heard a terrible racket and turned everything off quickly and took a closer look, seeing my PTO shaft had come off, in the pics above.
I'm going to guess (hope) that terrible racket was the turning PTO shaft bouncing around the top of the deck.
So what am I looking at? What's involved with a fix?
If it matters, a few weeks ago, I had a pulley on top of the deck lock up and a repair shop replaced the pulley. This is the second time I've mowed since that repair.
