What a great story. I am only 28 and don't have a ton of mechanical skills but I am old school and would rather do a little research and get my hands dirty than to just go out and buy a whole new mower like most would. It def looks like I have a different transmission in my mower than yours. This could give me more options in finding a replacement/ parts. I am def leaning towards having someone get the tranny going for me, so I know it is done right.
