There were 2 different assist springs used on Cub Cadets. the original Cubs used the spring assist shown in your picture, Model HH-110. Cub models 70, 71, 100, 102, and 122 Tractors used Model HH-112, which is actually bolted on the lift arm. This info is directly from Brinly-Hardy Co.
