I am installing a k301aqs into an 1211 basically making it a 1282. I replaced the 1211 ignition switch with one for a 1282. I then put the battery in an used a test light on the main wiring harness connector to see which wires had power in the key on and crank positions and noted that . Then I did the same using my 1200 cub (as a guide)then I wired the 1211 like the 1200 ,using blade connectors I did not splice into the 1211 harness. I tried it and it cranked. Then when I try to start it there is no fire to the plug until the key is in the run position. So I switched them I thought,tried that and had fire when cranking and none in the run position. What am I doing wrong here? Its something simple I'm sure it did fire a few times wanted to start but when I let the key back to run position it wouldn't run. I apologize I'm no wiring expert so..lol Thanks for any advice or suggestions and help I appreciate it!
