The guys are correct!

If you are gonna spend the time and effort to tear it down, then replace all the seals and check all the plumbing. If you do it right you should be good for years to come.

Keep in mind that the stems on the release valves have "O" rings on them as well and they do go bad. It is quite a project to repair them, most folks either get rebuilt ones or just let them leak. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think rebuilt ones are about $70.00 each. If yours are leaking and you have or are building a "no problems" machine, they are worth the investment.
