If you go to Extreme's website you can tell how the Cat 0 hitch attaches to the tractor and how it works. It uses the same ram that the OEM lift uses but allows more movement than the OEM lift and it keeps the same relative angle with the ground as it is lifting rather than swinging an arc like it does on the OEM lift. There is a rear plate that covers up the existing rear end and that is where the mechanical advantage is located. I do not know what the difference in lifting capacity between the two lifts is but I'm sure Extreme can tell you.
