IH used two styles of brakes, being: Internal (or wet brake) or External.
Of the external type, they used three different vendors. Although the mounting was all the same, the brake parts are specific to the vendor style.
When repairing or servicing the external brake system, pay attention to vendor style to order any needed parts.
There is no specific information as to when IH used either internal or external brakes, nor which vendor they used for external brakes. I am guessing, that if they had a good supply of a particular vendor on hand, that is what was installed on the tractors as they rolled down the line.
