in my opinion, there is no "heavy duty" wood splitter on the market today. sure the ones at tractor supply are nice, but they aren't what they are supposed to be. you would have much more luck making your own. ive seen wood splitters using a hydraulic cylinder from a cat dozer before and it would split anything you put it in. if you built your own splitter, you could build it to your own specs, and as heavy duty as you wanted. skys the limit if you have a GOOD welder and a set of torches, band saw and grinder.
