When did the needle go all the way to the right?
As soon as your start the engine, or after you had been using the tractor.
Almost as soon as you start would probably indicate electrical problem in gauge or sending unit.
After running the tractor. Like Sam Mac said no coolant circulation. Bad thermostat, plugged radiator, bad pump, poor air flow.
