Default PA buck

ToddW,
Awsome buck! Congratulations!

Zippy1, Todd, no problem on the long post, glad your balancing the deer population.

Folks,
This is a buck our son Eric harvested today in Northwestern PA near his home. He was hunting private land. Approx 8:00 this morning the buck came in at 36 yards and he arrowed it with a Muzzy broad head from his Mathews bow. This buck pile up after a 40 yard sprint. It was within viewing distance from his tree stand.
During his 20 minute wait, another smaller 8 point buck crossed between him and this downed deer within 20 yards of his stand. He glanced at his buck and a deer was standing in the same spot! It was a smaller racked 6 point buck that was all bristled up and ready to fight his dead deer. After several passes and snorts at the dead deer, the 6 point moved away, satisfied this old boy had got what was coming to him.

The buck weighed 205 lb. live weight.
A little deceiving in this picture but it has 13 points by today's scoring (must be 1 inch long), also three more you could hang a ring on. Eric is calling it a 13 point.
The inside spread is just a smidge over 22 inches.

In my book he is a very nice deer!
We skinned him this afternoon. Eric is going to take the rack to Gander Mountain in Erie for scoring tomorrow. Then off to the taxidermist for a shoulder mount. It will take its place among all his other trophies.
We may have some more pictures in a day or so.

Regards,
Chris
