Got the hydro back in the tractor last night, with the new trunnion set up. There is virtually no slack in the linkage now, though there is a little slop in the control plates where they fit on their respective shafts. next step is to add a filter, fill with hytran and spin the unit up with a drill to check operation. The lift valve spool seems stiff, so I might have to pull that out and replace or repair it. I do have a spare if I need it.

Major went peacefully in my arms earlier today. Schultz hasn't figured it out yet.
