Pick a model number and go to Cub Cadet's web site, or to partstree.com and look up the parts. If you want to get a hold of the sponsors at the top of the page and get a used one that would be better. You don't want to buy a brand new one and cut it up. Too many $$$. Used ones are fine. If you ask them for a shaft out of a 2000 series, they will know what you want.

Great site Jonathon! I've been watching 2000 series driveshafts on ebay. Cheapest I've found is about $90. I'm gonna check the sponsors pages too. Great idea! I personally am probably go with a 2082 CV shaft for my 2072. May even try to find a beat up one cuz I don't have the best feeling about my pump and my M20s rings are shot (50 psi on the compression test, starts and runs fine with some smoke! ) And then I don't have to bug Sam for the adapter.
