When you pull the rear cover it would be a good time to take a good look at the axle seals. They are probably about do to be replaced if they have not been done already. You may want to think about putting a set of braces on it at the same time. Let me know if you need more info on the care and feeding of the 2182. BTDT.
My 2182 is also slow speed wise as is my 1782 compared to the GT’s, think it’s a Super thing with the gearing.
