Well. I tore down the rest of the transmission. The needle bearing that the main shaft rides on is toast and gouged the shaft  . I wonder if I can mill that down and run a little bit bigger bearing. Maybe that would be easier then trying to find a new shaft. I'm thinking that I should go ahead and replace all of the bearings. They are 50 years old. Definitely wouldn't hurt.
