Just thought of one. Didn't happen to me today, thank God!
You are trying to buy something. You are standing there with the seller. It is just what you have been looking for. Exactly. He has told you at least ten times to "make an offer", and you can't get him to give you any idea on what he wants for it, or what he thinks it's worth. You have that number in your head. The one you think would make this deal an insane bargain. The number you are afraid, might offend this seller. Then, there is that other number in your head. The one you are willing to pay, but doesn't make this a good deal. You ask him again what he will take, "What will you give?" he says again. So...... there you are. You go somewhere between that first obviously offensive number, and the one you are willing to pay. You kick the dirt and stare at the ground while you give the number. Before you even get it out the guy says "DEAL!!" and holds out his hand. It is at that point you realize..... that he would have taken, much, much less than you offered! DANG IT! I HATE IT WHEN THAT HAPPENS!!!
