Thanks for the replies, guys. Need to start to dig in to the project. The CV style seems to be the way to go. When I originally put the tractor together I had planned to make a new shaft from a 1872 driveshaft eliminating the clutch but still rag joints. I had seen a couple diesels done this way and it made a big difference in how smooth they ran. When it came time to finish it I did not end up doing that and put it back "stock" It was good for a while but never perfect, so now I will need to re visit the project.
