Quick tire lesson. On these tires, the first number represents the overall height of the tire. Second number the width, and the third the rim size diameter. All numbers in inches. So, a 23-10.50X12 will fit, and assuming the rim is 8.50" wide, (there's a good chance it is) you can go down to a 23-8.50X12. The narrower you go, the shorter the tire will be because it has to spread out to accommodate the rim. Tires are usually mounted on a narrower than they are rim. If you want less "ballooning" you run a narrower tire on a wider rim and so on. (Hope that makes sense.) So, there are a lot of different sizes that will go on that rim, and if you go to a 23-10.50X12 instead of a 24 it will get you a little clearance. If you go to a 23-8.50X12 it will give you more. Most of us here have older cubs, maybe there will be someone on here who has put chains on one of these. As far as what to go with, I don't know.
