GTX2100 Tiller Options
Hey guys, this is my first real post apart from the welcome section.
Been doing quite a bit reading on this site for implement options. I have a Johnny Products sleeve hitch ordered and shipping first week of April 2014. Also, have a Brinly cultivator ordered from my local farm implement dealer whom I bought the GTX2100 as well as AG tires/rims coming also.
I am looking at options for a rear tiller that will hook onto the electric sleeve hitch. JP says the hitch has a 400lb lift capacity at the pin, sounds like a lot! Cant see having 400lbs hanging off the back. Here are the options/ideas I've looked at, wondering if you guys have any ideas to pass on:
1. DR RotoHog, an excellent idea although not sleeve hitch. Can get a lift option, but wither way it is large and pretty expensive at over $2K. It is a pretty awesome tiller, but man....its pricey!
2. Wait to get a pre 2005 Sears suburban 30" 8 HP sleeve hitch tiller on the used market. Sure would be nice if someone had one to sell.
3. AgriFab tow behind, not a bad option, non sleeve hitch, no electric lift option. Doesn't look robust and is still $1300.
4. Here is an interesting question. Could one fab up a under-tractor frame to exact dimensions of mower-deck, weld on drive pulleys for front PTO that mower uses and then bolt on an hydraulic pump/valves/hoses, turning the tractor into a hydraulic machine, drivin by the engine PTO? Then, buy a JD or similar hydraulic tiller for the sleeve hitch (if exists) and run it hydraulically? What do you guys think of that idea? This may get out of hand quickly with expenses!!!
Any other options any of you guys can think of?
Thanks,
Rob
