We had a 185 for a few years, the good is that if you think a Cub Cadet is built tough a lo - boy is even tougher. For mowing wide open areas it will work Ok but don't let the grass get too tall or power will be a problem. With sharp blades and grass not too tall I could mow in 2nd gear and do a good job but probably did more mowing in 1st than 2nd. For mowing my 2162 with 60" haban deck is twice the mower the 185 was.
