I gave some thought as to whether I would pay more for a diesel. Its sounds like something that would be attractive to me as a concept.
Then thought, no longer a farmer, this would be my only Diesel engine. So I would have to have fuel for it, separate containers, etc etc, and decided that I am better off with gas. Even if it does use more, this in a way is a good thing because it keeps my can fresh for all the other uses.
Having said that, if one came along and stared me in the face I know I would end up dragging it home.
People are funny like that. Which is my $.02 on the pricing discussion (I have done a lot of pricing of products, trust me, its not 'cost based' but 'market based', or even 'experienced based').
If I ever do actively seek out a diesel/super combo, I think I will just commission Sam to find me one. It will cost me more, but I think I would come out ahead in the long run.
BUT - before any of that happens I need to REDUCE the number of tractors, not INCREASE
