Well.... Made the 4 hour road trek and picked up my D600. Got the motor, a radiator, and a fuel tank with a brand new electric fuel pump all part of the deal! I have no idea what I will use the fuel tank for, future project I suppose. Would make a good oil reservoir for something, or a fuel tank...
The radiator appears to be an exact match to the one found on the diesel cubs with the exception of the outlets, which I don't believe in my particular build will be a problem. If it is, I know how to silver solder.
I don't know how long it will be before I start the project, but I have most all the plans (in my head) and parts that I will be needing. Going to wrap up a few odds and end, but I'm pretty excited about this build so, I plan to get started ASAP.
Kid I got it from said it was supposed to run (according to who he purchased it from). I don't think the kid knows anything about diesel motors. Hoping it was a simple
didn't turn the fuel on, or
didn't know you need glow plugs. I may get it started, I may just tear it down and overhaul it. Don't know yet. It came out of a Jacobson golf course mower, so I imagine it's got several hours on it.
