The IH dealer dad worked for was also a Kohler dealer, they got to see too many of the exploding KT engines. The time Kohler would allow to completely tear an engine down to fix it under warranty was not near enough so they had to eat a bunch of the labor bill. One of their biggest gripes was the sheet metal. One particular engine that kept showing up with the guts tore up was on a 2 blade concrete finisher that you rode. After the second or third time they figured out the owner was over revving the engine. They set it at the proper speed and marked/documented every screw and linkage on the machine. Told the guy if he ever brought it back he'd have to pay up front, no more warranties. They never heard from him again. As for the Kohler rep, he heard more than an earful about their warranty policies from the dealerships owner.
