I have a goal to have a spare deck while I rebuild my 109's 42 inch deck. I learned a lesson today. I'd also like to use the old spindles from 63 to 68 which used the taper roller bearing. Not crazy about the new style they used on my 42 inch, but I may be out of luck.

I'm rebuilding a 42 inch mower deck which came off a 109. Part number is 422U1113 and it has the new style spindles. The 109 is a manual lift which allows the mower deck to be raised all the way up due to the spindle being centered on the deck.

My question is when did they change to the new style bearing versus the tapper roller bearing type and second, what deck sizes had the center spindle in the middle with the large center blade ?
