I have a cub cadet 800, 8hp 3-speed manual gearbox, my late dad bought in 1976, it is also one of the "QuietLine" series, like your 1650.
I don't have any hydraulics or electric lift on mine, but all I have to do is check the oil, add gas, turn the key and mow.
Just think of your 1650 as a full-size Farmall that accidentally got Washed and dried on the "extra hot" laundry cycles.
