If you don't use a stator for charging, the only other option is to mount some external battery charging device, such as an alternator. I guess a guy could just have no charging device, and just charge up the battery in the garage between uses. What a hassle. I believe, like Jon already stated, you will have a donor motor that will give you a bearing plate, flywheel, stator, shroud, starter, and possibly even a voltage regulator which you will also need. Like I stated previously, my 129 was converted and it all fits, barely, so it will also fit a 149. From the new engine mounted VR, you will need a single wire to go to the load side of the amp meter.
