A guy I used to work with burned down his garage (and himself pretty badly) by using a pan of gasoline to clean some turbo oil lines and blowing them out with compressed air. The compressor kicked on and ignited the fuel rich atmosphere. He was in recovery for about 6 weeks. Like many households he only had an extinguisher in the kitchen and couldn't get to it in time to do much with it. I went out the night he told me that story and bought $250 of extinguishers. I have them all over the house/shop now.

Shockingly he still uses gas to clean parts...
