My solution was simple, I inflated my shipping charges to cover the additional ebay fees. No more "actual shipping" from me. Everything gets priced USPS flat rate + a couple extra bucks.
As far as email addresses on ebay go, it's pretty easy to work around it with a few asterisks or whatever. Email me at ma**xwelhse, etc..
I buy on CL a lot, but rarely sell unless its something where I can meet someone somewhere. The fewer random strangers that just show up at my house, the better. A friend of mine just won't learn his lesson and keeps selling stuff to morons that go out and break it in 2 days and then he takes it back because he's afraid they're going to burn his house down or something. He's had that problem 3 different times now over the past 2-3 years.
I've been on ebay for 15 years and have had 3 problems, TOTAL, that couldn't get fixed.

If im selling i dont mind having people come to my house, ive never had anyboby come back trying to return stuff and anytime i sell something with a serial number i always right up a bill of sale saying "as is" and have them sign it. The only time ive ever had anybody come back was a guy i sold a 127 to, he called me up 2 year later cause the motor went and he hauled it to my house and i got paid to rebuild the engine.
