In Ill, the car plates are letters, numbers, or custom. We can pick what our plates say if we want. They have no other markings on them. A trailer plate number is assigned, and has a big TA on the right hand side. I agree, that it's better than no plate, and I think the fine is the same for incorrect plate as it is for no-plate. Also agree that it draws less attention than no plate........ and not going to say I haven't done something like that before too!
