-What tooth count starter does 1450 use?
-Who has good starter prices in MN or WI?

Long discussion:

Have been working on a 1450 I picked up. Want to get it running to till the garden soon.

It started 1 time when I bought it, and the owner said he was having trouble with the starter solenoid. So, in my free time I redid all the wiring under the cover, and hooked it up today to spin it.

Relay clicked loud and proud with a fully charged new battery, but no crank.

So, I go down by the starter, and little puffs of smoke was all I got.

Pulled the starter, and the bendix was stuck into the flywheel, with the teeth ground to near nothing. Took the bolts out of the starter housing, and this moron obviously smacked the starter with something, because the magnet is all busted to pieces.

Anyways, here is the problem I am facing: the starter on it has a 10 tooth drive, but cub cadet's only P/N on their website for a 1450 starter is a 13 tooth.

Also, is there any reasonably priced places in MN or WI to get a starter? I can get one shipped online (either tooth type) for $65-$70.
