Low Ash Oil
O.K. you've probably answered this question a million times by now, but here goes anyway.
Must I use "low-ash" SAE 30 motor oil in my Cub Cadet Garden Tractor as prescribed in the owners manual or is this a standard from an earlier time when oils were lower quality? If so then what brand is recommended and where can I buy it? Is there such a thing as a fully synthetic SAE 30 oil as I here synthetics are extremely "low-ash"?
I own a 1978 IHCC 1450 with a Kohler engine.
