My best guess would be that Alvy is absolutely correct.

Often times the "grounding systems" (which are used to kill the engine) on these machines aren't of the highest quality.

I've seen a number of problems in this area, it could be something simple like a twig that got caught on the little flap and is keeping the coil grounded.
