I know this is more of a car issue than a tractor issue, but I bought a 78 dodge ramcharger some time back with headers, and I had a heat issue under the good leading to vapor lock. I decided on wrapping the headers after talking to a number of people. The wrapping lessened the vapor lock problem, but after 1 year the headers disintegrated from rusting out as the wrapping trapped water and road salt. I ended up buying new headers that were ceramic coated, which solved both problems. Wish I had done that in the first place, but live and learn!
