As far at MTD Cubs go, that's a rare one. One year of production. They are a good tractor, overall. I had one, and got rid of it (not because I didn't like it, mind you). It's got a 10hp Kohler Mag single cylinder engine in it, 3 forward, 1 reverse speed trans, and not really any options. It's manual lift, doesn't have an amp gauge, but can be fitted with a rear lift, it does have head lights, and the 4 gallon tank on it will last you eons! If it's in good shape, runs, and can be had for a good price, I'd go for it!

With mine, it was the star of the show once a year; winter. I'd throw a 54" blade on it, loaded and chained rears plus a set of weights, and walk through whatever mother nature had in for us (that's saying a lot considering this last winter). I know J-Mech and a few others here have them, but you don't see many pics of them.

For mowing, they are alright. I've heard 1st gear is too slow while 2nd is too fast, if you don't have good grass and a smooooooth yard. I wouldn't put a snow thrower on it, 10hp and a manual trans without a creeper option won't do too much good.

Any specific questions you have, feel free to ask; we're all here to help, and good luck!

Edit: A couple pics if you'd like
