Default Flipping Belts......

Hey guys, looking to get some advice from the vast amount of knowledge here. Been a member for a while, but this is my first post (What can I say, I like to read)

I have a 1996 model 1864 that has a habit of flipping the belt from the engine to the deck. All of the blade spindles have been rebuilt within the last 3 years and lubricated religiously........ Every piece of this tractor has been rebuilt at some time or another. Okay, back to the problem........ No restrictions on the deck. Both pulleys on the Mule drive spin freely with the belt off. There appears to be decent tension on the mule drive pulleys keeping the belt tight. I turn the adjuster to even the pulleys out. I am using a Gates Belt Part # L589 (3/4X58") This belt was replaced last weekend for the same reason. Normally, it flips at the Mule Drive, but this one flipped at the Clutch pulley on the crankshaft.

I have been a mechanic all of my life (24 years professionally) mostly mid-range diesel. I am usually pretty good at troubleshooting this type of thing, but this one has me "bumfuzzled" . I am in hopes that someone here has at least seen this before and can help. My son needs to mow, but with belts @ $40 a pop, I would like to do something with this one before it ruins this one. At this point, there are no frayed edges (yet)

Thanks,
Fish
