Just my 2 cents but I would pull the fender pan, remove every bit of fuel line all the way from the tan to the carb and replace it. Go to a decent auto parts store and get some good quality gas line. If the tank is cruddy clean it out also. This is also a good time to clean the crap that builds up around the trans.
