hand guns are handguns but a pistol is self loading and a revolver, well, it revolves !
As an redleg , a howitzer is like a rifle, it has rifling in the barrel, but the old 175, it was a gun or slick bore.
I guess we could all technical but we can save those arguments for a buns and whammo forum!!
