Hello From the Shenandoah Valley, VA
I have been lurking around the site for a while, thought i'd finally say hello.
I was given my Cub by my wife's grandfather this spring. He loves his JD and said the Cub couldn't do all the mowing he required (4 acres) so he got me all fired up about the near brand new Cub he had in the barn. I was so incredibly stoked thinkin' I was gonna be the proud owner of a Almost new Cub Cadet.
Well as most things in my life work out, it wasn't new... it didn't run and it needed some TLC.
So I am now the proud owner of my First 1992/93 Cub Cadet 1225. I guess to her grandpa it was almost new (18 years is a lot less time to him than me, I suppose).
It took me 3 weeks to get it running. A lot of trial and error in the electrical department (I am only a novice mechanic) I finally got it running. Once it was running I tried to do some mowing... Well that didn't go as planned either, realized there were no belts on the 38" deck, therefore I had nothing to go on other than the part number. But after some research I got all the belts on (with the help of some WD-40 on the tensioner springs) and now she runs like a champ. He always said it was to small to mow his 4 acres, but it will tear it up on my 3 acres...
You guys have an awesome site and the information I have picked up has been invaluble!
Thanks!
