It will come out. You will probably have to get brutal & mangle it to do so.
Just be careful installing a new one. Find a socket that will fit snugly over the button and on the collar and tap it into place without distorting it.
Would be a great time to get everything all cleaned up and lubed also.
These machines don't like being left out in the elements for long periods of time.
