A few years back my FIL couldn't get the corn finished before the weather turned. About the time the ground froze well it was time for their trip to Florida. Since I had been combining for him for about 5 years, they left on their trip.

The only problem was he failed to tell me about the winter spring in the one field I had to run the four row Gleaner combine thru. I was going along and everything was fine until the ground broke under the drive wheels. Luckily I was adjusting the header down when it happened so it didn't go all the way to the axles.

I was able to get the combine backed out and back onto solid ground but gave that area a wide berth when I finished. I was glad I didn't have to call the big truck garage for their big wrecker as they get $250 just to start it up
