Sam, I got a PTO clutch from a friend at work off of a 2182 that spun when the bearings locked up and ripped the wire connector off of it. The field assembly was bent up pretty bad. I straightened it and welded some 1/8" flat bar on it where it contacts the torque bar assembly for a larger contact area and to strengthen the field coil due to possible metal fatigue. Pretty sure that's what happened to this one at some time in it's life. The wires have butt connectors on them close to the field coil. We have the technology to make it better.
