Default Mounting a 1991 and later Haban blade on a cyclops?

Since I'm having some trouble with my 2072, which is now known as "you dirty sob" . I thought I would mount the Haban blade on the 1782. I took the leftover rear mounting brackets from the older style 60" mower on the 2072 to the 1782, but the front 1/2" or so is blocked by the footrest. Is it normal to relieve the footrest so these brackets can bolt to the frame or are they normally mounted another way? I see there is a newer style bracket listed for the blade, but it looks like there would be the same problem.
Thanks,
Geoffrey
