This is the way I set up my winch to be universal. I used what I had on hand at the time , which was 3/4" pipe, 1/4" plate and 3/4" bolt. Cut plate to size to mount winch and welded pipe on edge. For the trailer, plate and pipe pieces to make a hinge type hookup. The tractor mount is made from a pattern from a mule drive to frame hookup (just a little beefier), 2 - 2 x 2 angle iron, 1 - 3 x 3 angle iron, 2x2x1/4 sq. tube and 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 angle welded together for the top. Pics are self explanatory. The first pic shows where I mounted the up/down switch (what's the difference if I push a switch with my thumb or push and pull a handle?)

The speed is just fine, I don't think it's any slower than hydraulics. It works great for me, but then I'm retired and the only thing that makes me rush to do anything ..............isn't home right now(she's babysitting great-grand daughter)
