On the jack you will see an orange plastic cap that says "DO NOT ADJUST" well, yer gonna want to adjust that. Pop that cap off and righty tighty that summon a gun down. You are now entering the danger zone. It will now lift anything, including a Ranger, but now the metal structure is close to its folding up point. BE VERY CAREFUL AND DONT GET YERSELF KILLED. Blocks under the tires, jack stands, yelling wife, concerned neighbors, and a phone nearby when you do this.

Thanks to lawyers, anything that can lift X amount can still safely lift 1.5X and unsafely 2X. I have seen this numerous times with car lifts in shops I have worked at over the years. They also have a relief valve that can be adjusted.
