I have 2 102s. Yes they are internal brakes. It is a little bit of a job to get to the very inside brake puck as you have to remove a wheel, cog, to get to the very inside puck. I have found the very inside puck doesn't seem to wear very much. The outside puck is easy to replace. IIRC there is a ball between the puck and the adjustment rod. Do not lose that ball. Also when you adjust the brakes, do it in very small increments as a little adjustment means a lot of brake difference. Good luck with your project, we are all counting on you.
